What counts as urgent?

📝

Signing before a notary

Buying a home, setting up a company, granting powers of attorney — all require an NIE. If the signing is days away, you need an urgent appointment.

💳

Expired TIE

If your residence card is expired you can't work legally, travel outside the EU or complete many procedures.

💼

Job contract

A company requiring a valid TIE before you start. Every day of waiting is a day not working.

🚨

Regularization 2026

The deadline closes on 30 June 2026. If you've been waiting months for an appointment and time is running out, it's urgent.

🏦

Blocked banking procedures

Opening a bank account, a mortgage, or international transfers that require an active NIE.

✈️

Upcoming flight or trip

You need a valid TIE to travel outside the Schengen area without a visa.

How to get an urgent appointment — 4 routes

1

CitaEx — urgent 24/7 monitoring Fastest

You flag that it's urgent when you sign up. The system prioritises your search. In most provinces we get an appointment in 24-72 hours. In Madrid it can be 3-7 days for urgent cases. Price: from €59.

2

Police stations in low-demand provinces

For an NIE without residence: Soria, Palencia, Ávila or Teruel have appointments in 1-3 days. If you can travel (they're small cities 1-2 hours from Madrid), it's a valid option.

3

In-person urgent request at the station

Go early to the station with documents proving the urgency (notary signing date, job contract, etc.). Not guaranteed — it depends on the station and the officer, but it works in some cases.

4

Urgent gestoría

Some gestorías have systems similar to CitaEx but charge €200-500 for urgency. If you already have your documents and only need the appointment, CitaEx is the cheaper and faster option.

Frequently asked questions — urgent appointment

How do I get an urgent immigration appointment?

The fastest way: CitaEx (24/7 monitoring, from €59) or searching low-demand provinces if the procedure allows it. For extremely urgent cases (a notary signing tomorrow), message us on WhatsApp and we'll find the fastest solution available.

What counts as urgent for an immigration appointment?

An imminent notary signing or property purchase, a job contract that requires a TIE, an already-expired TIE, the 2026 regularization deadline (closes 30 June), a scheduled surgery or imminent travel.

Can I request an urgent appointment because my TIE has expired?

Yes. If your TIE is expired, you can request urgency in person at the station, or use CitaEx, which prioritises expiry cases. Bring the expired TIE and documents for the pending procedure.

Does CitaEx guarantee an appointment within 24 hours?

We don't guarantee a specific time — it depends on the province and ICP+ system availability. In low-demand provinces: usually 24-72 hours. In Madrid and Barcelona: 3-10 days for urgent cases. If we don't get an appointment, you don't pay.
